Pauls Drumming... |

i remember seeing a few interviews with alex saying its the cannibal way to improve on every album from the previous, in some way, more brutal, faster, more grotesque lyrics, He says they don't want to seem like they are "spinning their wheels" Well when i got evisceration plague i loved it i thought it was great, and after a few thousand times listening to it, i thought i'd pop in KILL for a change. When i was going through the songs i couldn't believe it was the same drummer, the rapid changes of speed and the creativity, the grooviness of him jamming out on the cymbals on make them suffer, i was like wtf?! happened. Purification by fire, barbaric bludgeonings, necrosadisitc warnings, holy fuck.
on evisceration, the drums sounded so similar,(excluding a few) it just him banging on his snare for most the part, i know he upgraded his equipment and started using a metronome but wtf wheres the creativty he had on previous albums, alex said he wrote most of the songs on his computer at home, did he write pauls drums for him? it sounds like that same old computerized beat, u find on any drum program
i then saw an interview with him from this past march and he said "its always been the cannibal way to make catchy music but also make it heavy, we we're never trying to be the heaviest or the most brutal" Now that contradicts like 5 interviews iv'e seen with alex
paul i think has begun to "spin his wheels" and plane off
i'd hate to see another original member go, but i mean i think it would be the best for the band if they pull a chris barnes on him and say he'll leave the band cause of "musical differences"
he has the talent, but im guessing his heart just isn't into anymore
check out corpsegrinder sing the same song from ten years ago, and today, you can just tell he can hold his notes longer now than he could back then |

Cannibal Corpse As People |

People would usally think that a band that's named Cannibal Corpse and put out songs like 'Hammer Smashed Face' would be total assholes. Think again! I met them a year ago, before I knew who they were. They were very kind and nice people. Chris exspecialy. So, anyone else met them? And if so, what do you think of them as people? |
