I tried googling various Bob Dole searches to see what he actually said about them, but only found stuff like "Bob Dole condemns Cannibal Corpse" and things like that. Eh... i'd be interested in it though, and Bob Dole admitted to never actually hearing their music.
You shouldn't take it to heart. Just laugh about it like me.

OK, here is the Bob Dole story.
Bob Dole is raising money so he can run for president against Bill Clinton, right ? This is like 1996. So he's running against Clinton and Gore and Al Gore already had the "high ground" with the "moral majority" because of his wifes involvement with the PMRC and trying to ban certain music in the late 80's. So Bob Dole is at a fund raiser, and someone asks his views about the decay of society and the influence of the entertainment industry, and Dole see's his chance to stand for morality and decency and attack the democratic supporters in Hollywood at the same time, so he starts this speach about artists that revel in violence and loveless sex. Cannibal Corpse is mentioned by name, and also movies such as Natural Born Killers. Anyway, he later admitted that he had never actually heard Cannibal Corpse's music, so basically the whole thing was just politics and Bob Dole trying to reclaim some of the moral high ground from Al Gore.

I grew up in the 80's and trust me it was a time when Motley Crue was percieved as a threat(HaHa!).The more shows Geraldo Rivera did on "satanic music"the bigger the bands became in most cases.I knew who Ozzy was but when the "experts"that they had on these shows finished telling us how evil and dangerous Black Sabbath was I had to hear their stuff.Anyway heres the bottom line.
Every time one of these high profile assholes makes a comment about Cannibal Corpse(and you'd think these pricks would eventually figure this out)It does nothing but generate publicity for the band.Remember C.C. is not a bunch of guys who appear on eMpTV every day.So as long as they spell their name right who gives a fuck?I already know that they are the most vile band on the planet that's exactly why I buy their albums.
