Well, I guess by now you guys have figured out that I really love the Band Cannibal Corpse. Duh!

I love everything about this band, the gory disgusting cover art, the vulgar violent lyrics, the growling snarling singing, the blast beats, kicking bass, and frenzied guitar riffs.

What do you like about Cannibal Corpse?

YOU ABOUT SUMMED IT UP FOR ME.

WHEN I SAW CORPSE IN S.FRANCISCO I GOT THE GALLERY UNCENSORED LONG SLEEVE. WELL THE NEXT DAY IM ALL HUNG OVER IN THE GROCERY STORE STANDING IN LINE TO BUY MORE JAGER. WHEN I NOTICE THE LIL KID STANDING IN LINE INFRONT OF ME CHECKING OUT WITH HIS MOM. I LOOK DOWN AND THE LIL KID IS TRYING TO SEE THE WHOLE PIC ON THE SHIRT ALL INTRESTED LIKE. SO I PULL THE SHIRT STRAIT AND LET HIM SEE THE WHOLE PIC. THE KID WAS LIKE WHOA THATS COOL AND TOUCHED THE GIRL WHOS CUTTING HERSELFS TITS WHEN HIS MOM NOTICED HIM. SHE GRABED HIM BY THE ARM AND THREW ME A DIRTY LOOK AND MACHED OUT THE STORE.

I too love this band very much for many reasons I need not explain. CC isn't just some old, regular DM band to me. At times I don't even like to call it DM because I believe it sounds so much different than anything I've heard. They're just so damn great!

When I first heard Cannibal Corpse I didn't really like them all that much. But back then, I didn't know good music because I was still listening to Green Day and Sum41 sad.gif

The first song I heard was Hammer Smashed Face, and I didn't really like Barnes' singing all too much. At first I deleted it and told myself to not listen to it again. But the title and lyrics intriqued me, so I decided to download it again and give it another listen. I listened to it over and over again, and it started to grow on me. When I saw some of their other song titles, I thought to myself, "Holy shit, are these guys sick or something?"

But I gave it all more and more listen, and decided that I needed to broaden my tastes. A lot of the bands I like now I know of only because I joined the Cannibal Corpse forum. I started listening to other bands, like Cryptopsy, Vader, Morbid Angel, Exhumed, Defleshed, Death, etc.

I deleted all of my shitty music and now only have good music. I can't remember how I heard of Cannibal Corpse. I think I was browsing through metal music on Audio Galaxy and came across them, and I thought the song titles were cool, so I downloaded some.

A good piece of advice to take is: if you don't like something the first time you hear it, listen to it again. It's so fucking true when they say death metal is an aquired taste.

its HEAVY, guitar riffs are great, bass is fast , keeps the tempo well, drums kick ass like crazy, and george fisher is just...great (to say the least)...creative lyrics, too...but CC is my 3rd favorite band of all time, just because i'm sentimental and pantera is 1st, metallica (from '83-'90)being a close 2nd and CC in third...my favorite death metal band by far...i dunno, the music just goes so well...it...clicks, ya know? blink.gif

The first time I noticed Cannibal Corpse it was in a Music store, I was starting to get bored with the usual stuff I listened to (Slayer, Megadeth, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, etc,.) and starting buying death metal ( the first death metal album I bought was "Wolverine Blues" from Entombed) and came across the album "The Bleeding" and was intrigued by the album title and the bands name (Cannibal Corpse ? What the fuck is that ?). I thought zombie+metal = can't be that bad. I've been hooked on it since then.

I basically posted this story already in my welcome post in the new member board but oh well here it is again lol...

Back around 1993 I knew a guy in high school who wore CC shirts almost everyday. He was a real nice guy and we talked quite a few times. I was really intrigued with the band name and the whole gore aspect of it. I love gore flicks (not this newer crap like i know what you did last summer etc.) like texas chainsaw, first couple friday 13th, night of the living dead series, and of course House of 1000 Corpses. Rotten.com also rocks.

For whatever reasons I never listened to them though. Around 1994 or so, I heard them for like 30 seconds while going by my best friends brother's room. He had them cranked and I thought "that's heavy shit...weird!"

Still though, never listened to them more than that.

Over the years my fav bands have always been Tool, Faith no More, Nine inch nails, marilyn mansion, nirvana, etc. The metal bands I listen to are mainly Splipknot, Pantera, and Ministry. Recently (last week) a friend at work said here, borrow this you might like it. It was Total Carnage by Six Feet Under. I loved it after just one listen. The low, slow rolling guttural growls and HEAVY music really got me going. Realizing this was the original singer from CC, I've aquired some CC music (most of eaten back to life, all of Butchered at Birth, and some of Gore Obsessed to hear their newer stuff with the new singer.

I love CC just for their great, heavy mutli layered alternately timed music, and their singers rock. I can't find any other good bands like them that sing about morbid stuff and have that great vocal. I tried autopsy, napalm death, and nile, but didn't like them.

ohmy.gif Nile are awesome, they manage to mix brutality and atmospheric-ness together and it doesn't sound shitty. Each song has a story behind it, but it's your taste I guess.

Anyway, I knew a guy around school and he once wore the butchered... shirt, and I asked him "what the fuck is that?" and he told me a few song names (fucked with a knife, entrails ripped... etc, I think he was trying to gross me out more than anything), then someone else told me they were hilarious and their singer sang like a bear, curious, I looked them up on KaZaA and found "a skull full of maggots" and thought "woah, what a fucking cool song name", I then promptly downloaded it and found it funny at first but then started to think "holy shit, this is awesome". Cannibal Corpse saved me from a life of nu-metal, I am very grateful.
