| The Ibanez Iceman. Is by far. The most. Awsome. Design. Sound. Everything! Especially Daron Malakian's (System of a Down) signiature Iceman 2 - Baritone. On toxicity it sounds like the heaviest thing i've ever heard("Deer Dance","Forest"). <br>System suck. Over rated, over played and daron malakian is a shite guitarist and an even worse vocalist. Hundreds of guitaists have miles heavier sounds Dr. Sean 'Bloodbath' McGrath from Impaled and Matt Conell from Exhumed have heavy as fuck guitars' I can't be arsed to find out what they play but they are miles heavier. Oh and the most important thing I voted ESP I love those guitars. Now Playing: Exhumed-The Power Remains
QUOTE (Webster-Wanna-be+Nov 17 2005, 05:23 AM) Daron Malakian records with Gibson SG's Not true, he used Icemans up until this year, where he recorded and played live with a Gibson SG.Anyway, the best guitars i've played so far are Deans, they're built like tanks and have great stock pickups. I found it a little difficult to get used to the Gibson style neck they use, but I now find it's thickness comfortable, something to grab onto, so to speak. BC Rich guitars are also very good, the horror stories usually come from the "Signature special" series, Bronze, and to an extent Platinum series. I believe I got lucky with my Platinum Warlock, as it has a fixed bridge, and great tone. No fault there whatsoever. Vish, you're aware that you can alter the action on guitars, right? wtf was I the first who voted for jackson? I own both a bc rich beast nj and a jackson warrior wrmg, and seriously I think that the jackson is the better guitar! once I get my emg-81 mics on it it'll crush skulls!
QUOTE (SufferInTruth+Nov 18 2005, 05:34 PM) Not true, he used Icemans up until this year, where he recorded and played live with a Gibson SG. He has ALWAYS recorded with SGs and SG Juniors. He's been thanking the Gibson guitar company since Album one, when he used a Fender HH strat. And SHavo always recorded with Gibson Thunderbirds, even when he used Ibanez BTB's on stage, you can tell by the sound on the album too, if you KNOW your instruments.Something you overlooked/heard. I own every album, and they all have him thanking Gibson guitar company. Plus, the SG has a very distinctive sound, well, compared to the Iceman, the Iceman, has a brighter tone, because of the maple cap he has on his baritone. The SG is 100% Mahogany, which is a warmer tone. There's a big difference in sound. And Ibanez stock pickups sound like Garbage. Which is why Daron sounded like Garbage on stage. The Iceman has stage prescence, but not tonal equality with the SG. I only know so much shit with instruments because instrument are my life, and my brother's too lol, all we do is work on guitars, buy guitars and play guitars. There's so much difference between one instrument from the next, that eventually it's like telling a different colour apart.
I believe you when you say he recorded with an SG, and of course a mahogany bodied guitar sounds warmer, but there's no way you could specifically pick out an SG.
Fuck yeah, Dean ML. It fucking rocks like no other.
i voted Jackson...
I worked at a guitar store for a week, and i played/tuned epiphones, gibsons, ltds, ESPs, Jacksons and PRS guitars. The Jackson shat all over the others like there was no tomorrow. There was just a feel about them, nice neck shape, nice action, plus they look kickass. Can't go wrong with a Rhoads.
Where the fuck is BC Rich on that poll? I own a platnium warlock with EMG 81/85 pickups, and I think the sound is pretty good, but more importantly I think the guitar is really easy to play. I fucking love the fret action, the think neck, just about everything when it comes to BCR guitars.
Ran Guitars. (yes, I own one.)
i OWN A GIBSON 89 GIBSON EXPLORER .
and have tried countless guitars in my 21 years of guitar playing .....I just find , that gibson gives you the widest arrangment of tone , simply not possible with other guitars . Fender strats also get nice tones as well . I have tried esp's and have not been satisfied with both sound and playability . Godin , a canadian guitar company make some killer axes - pricey !!! but nice ......B.c. rich for the most part are shit ( unless you spend the money ) and get one at least in the 7-800 doll range ....then they are usually playable even then , gibson blows them away .... THeir is a b.c. rich ( bitch ) neck through body n.j. classic series that lists for $1200 usd - fucken nice .... cheaper b.c. riches play / sound like firewood and are good for kindelling wood ...
gibson les pauls are awesome, or jacksons \m/ i agree with RDC bc rich sounds liek garbage... but they do look cool
i like the way gibsons play but i hate the way they sit, it like digs into my side when i play it, a little heavy on the back end, but never the less a good guitar.
Ibanez guitars are ok, necks are too skiny for me though BC rich guitars suck if they are the low priced ones, but i played a kerry king signature which was bout 5000 and that thing was awsome Jacksons arent bad either But in my opinion DEAN OWNS ALL! great playing, good pickups (especially on dime guitars with the dimebucker) the floating/double locking floyd roses are fucking awsome, stays in tune great as well.
I despise Fender guitars. for looks I'd say B.C. Rich is fucking nice althought I've never played one. Jacksons are awesome too.
I have an Ibanez but prolly get a Zakk Wylde sig. Les Paul within the next year QUOTE (sdmf2+Apr 5 2006, 04:03 PM) I despise Fender guitars. for looks I'd say B.C. Rich is fucking nice althought I've never played one. Jacksons are awesome too. ummmmmm ok ???

Ibanez has my vote! I do like Dean's too and I love the LOOK of the B.C. Rich Warlock.
there is a canadian company making high end guitars
godin , they are simply one of the best quality axes out there . i own a schecter diamond series strat ~ with dunceon design pickups its amazing . I own a gibson exlporer 89 ~ thats nice , but for the money nothing touches schecter . they play like $1000 + guitars for hundreds . check out the links : www.godinguitars.com www.schecterguitars.com i like the fenders and gibsons , but the prices arent reasonalbe for the quality . godins are better .~! So are schecters !
