Me I personally like Chris Barnes better I think he has a way more evil voice and sounds way more death metal then georges more powerfull roar which I still think is fucking awesome. They are both different and I admire them both for there differences and think cannibal corpse is awesome with george in it and I think chris needing to leave to make better music anyway with a different band! obviosly six feet under.
I am pretty wasted so it may not makee sense so what I am basically saying is:

plus i guess myself.......the times i met cc....chris was the coolest guy of the bunch..who didnt make it seem like him being there was a chore..i was towards the end of the line of a legnthy autograph session and while the other guys were kinda cranky and waiten to get the fuk outta there.chris talked to me and my friends for close to a half hour and was cool as beans.

so i guess my personal xperience plays into it as much as my prefering how chris sings overall..

Personally, I think George completely destroyes Chris. Barnes became a bad joke after Corpse gave him the boot, and I feel that Six Feet Under blows hard. I'm not trying to incite any Barnes fans into a fight, this is just my opinion.

I agree with CannibalDave 100% thats just how I feel about it.

And I've never met Chris Barnes or anything, but I have met all the other current members of Cannibal Corpse and can say for certainty they were all extremely nice and polite and patient with all their fans.

But I like Corpsegrinder's singing better mainly. With the exception of "The Bleeding" I can't understand a word Chris sings without the lyric sheets, and George sings the old school shit like I Cum Blood, Born In A Casket, The Undead Will Feast, Vomit The Soul, etc... with total ass-kicking authority. Plus after Vile when Cannibal Corpse's music started to get more complicated, Corpsegrinder could keep up and deliver on the faster songs where I don't think Chris could have done that, its just not his style.

Corpsegrinder is the best death metal vocalist ever. He should be the singer for every death metal band.

Chris Barnes. I really like the work he did on The Bleeding especially when he started doing some screaming rather than nonstop growling (don't get me wrong I fuckin' love growls). I also think CC released better material with CB on vox. After Bloodthirst, CC started to get kind of redundant (but still really kick ass).

I say Chris Barnes is better at singing all the stuff that was written when he was in the band and that george is defnitly the right guy to fill his place and take cannibal corpse to a different standard. And also chris departure was a good thing because six feet under suits chris barnes vocal style.

All of Corpses best work have Barnes finger prints on them. All the controversial ones, the ones that were banned, the ones that brought corpse the attention and status it enjoys.

IMO george messed up the Barnes era songs on live cannibalism.
On "I cum blood" nad other classic tracks, Fisher sounds like he is deseprately trying to imitate barnes to get his "low" sound.

I'm pretty sure George knows that he sounds nothing like Chris. They both have their own unique sound, as I'm sure many others have pointed out. He just did his own thing on Live Cannibalism and did a mighty fine job with the Barnes-era songs.

Chris is probably a better song writer cause I've yet to see a song Corpsegrinder wrote in any of my booklets, maybe he will write some in the new album cause Jack isn't there anymore. But nobody can sing death metal better than Corpsegrinder, I don't think Barnes can come even close to singing as fast as George did in Severed Head Stoning.

Yeah Chris doesn't sing as fast, but Corpsegrinder can't get as low as Barnes. I don't think anyone has ever heard the lowest he can get.
One thing I really hate about Corpsegrinder is on the box set he holds the screams to long and 3 words are pressed it to one long scream. After a while it gets to me. It would be nice if he could go lower, but hes alright.

George might be able to spit out the lyrics faster, but man, Chris' voice sounds so fuckin evil and gutteral it isn't even funny. Tomb of the Mutilated = Genius, and not just because of the music. Chris' vocals are amazing
