does anyone know these guys?? it doesnt seem like much do but these guys kick so much fucking ass. The first three albums, heavy metal maniac, violence & force and long live the loud are godamn classics. These guys are actually from my hometown im proud to say that. I hope someone here knows them....in terms of canadian metal they rank way up there with the greats like Sacrifice, Dissection, Voivod, Anvil, Slaughter, Razor, DBC and Piledriver. THRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!!

Well really at the time, Exciter was just another "me too" thrash band. You might not remeber, some of you weren't even around then, but bands like Exciter were a dime a dozen. They weren't really all that great back then or anything.

But don't get me wrong, they are kind of cool to listen too. Just don't expect something of great quality. They aren't exactly one of the classic thrash bands that stood the test of time or anything like that. Just another run of the mill - mediocre thrash band that even in the hey day didn't amount to much.

Gosh that sounds harsh - I'm in a cranky mood I guess - don't pay any attention to me.

Check 'em out. There's worse.

they're definitely not mediocre....they have stood the test of time, along with anvil sacrifice and razor they are synonomous with canadian metal. they still play shows nowadays too. listen to any of the first three albums.....its classic shit, they definitely had something special about them.

i have to comment on this though....they've opened up for black sabbath, and influenced a shitload of bands of their style. i dunno but if i were in a band id feel very fucking accomplished if i did that.

no, not the original line up anymore. John Ricci the guitarist is still in the band though but thats it. Drummer/Singer Dan Beehler is doing other stuff now but their singer now does a good job of filling in. They just had a big Montreal Metalfest in Montreal and it was full of all the classic canadian metal bands....Dead Brain Cells, Piledriver, Anvil, Razor and Exciter. people from every corner of the world came out to that show, it was a big big deal around here.

razor maybe, NOT annihlator. Jeff Waters just wanted to be exciter. Annihilator is mediocre thrash......EXCITER are gods among men.

EXCITER kick ass I like their old stuff best.
