Well 'Butchered At Birth' is defintely a classic, but 'But Goreobsessed' is better based on the production quality alone. I think the songs are better too. IMHO, that is.

Like I said at the start mate, ranking ten records, even in our twisted, opinionated ways, can be devilishly difficult. And we fans are often so fickle, constantly changing our minds. However, I'll always regard BaB and TotM to be my forever personal pride n joy. Besides, in any case the Barnes-era first fab four will always be my Top Four all-time fave CC albums. I can't figure out how EBtL got listed as my #1 in the profile. I thought I had mistakenly put The Bleeding in there at top, when in reality BaB is my true #1. I don't even know what my profile says. Gotta check on it soon.

I don't know how to explain my listed rankings for the Fisher-era six-pack records, except to say that in many ways,(some difficult to explain) I don't have a clear favourite album from that era. Every one of the Corpsegrinder-fronted albums have slightly let me down when I first heard them and I still feel the same way about them. Vile, still sounds and feels rather dull and deflating to my ears, and I recall how I thought this definitely wasn't an auspicious way to begin for a new vocalist. Guys accused me of being a Barnes-era hold-out. Of course I was. But seriously, I could only say that very little I found in Vile, either vocally or musically, could make me joyous and forget the heartbreak I felt at Chris's exit.

Gallery of Suicide bores me to tears, and some of the Morbid Angel-ish (though I'm a big MA fan, overall) guitar solos, atmosphere and vibes really turned me off, cos this was Cannibal Corpse, not Morbid Angel or their ilk. George sounded near-generic throughout this record and failed to wow me like he does his greatest fans. The other four Fisher-era albums all have their great moments, but are far too inconsistent and lack elements that I love about the original four with Barnes. Alas, the rankings running down to ten can be so misleading and look so unflattering. I guess I tried to be as honest and accurate as possible. Sorry for the long rambling post....

Some of us here , didn't admire it either . But just a small dose of advise - try and refrain from dissing the band by describing it in such a fashion . I'd hate to see an intelligent , refreshing , and well opinionated member such as yourself get warnings. I got a few myself which now I see as understandable . Keep up the great posts , keep it old school . But try as BEST you can not to DISS - either era.

I ask cos I did notice the explicit headliner of the CC discussion forums stating that we all ought to steer clear of ridiculing or showing "disrespect" to band members, at all times. In any case, even without explicit warnings about supposed no-go areas, I couldn't imagine slamming any CC member, past or present, and let mud fly in all directions. Never was my style. Beneath my tastes. Won't come from me, here in this playground.

But c'mon mate, slagging a specific album of our loved band's career catalogue, in an honest fashion, when all of us are long-time fans, serve n volleying with each other? That reeks of some uncommonly 'controlled', 'self-censoring' forum. I love them all though, but if i had to choose an order it would be this.

I just loved the music on Created to Kill, they were my favorite Barnes vocals and lyrics, and when I heard it all different on Vile it just really ruined it for me. I still listend to Created to Kill more than the other albums, except maybe Tomb and Butchered.

I feel the same way....I don't think it was worse than any others besides the fact i think the solos could have been slightly better...maybe..
