Cannibal Corpse Biography of George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher
Vocalist, lyricist (1996-Present)
Not many frontmen have brought as much raw, intense energy to the stage as George Fisher has. A powerhouse of the death metal world, George helped write some of Cannibal Corpse’s lyrics in the songs ‘Disfigured,’ ‘Puncture Wound Massacre,’ and ‘Blood Drenched Execution.’ Legendary for his extreme lows growls and astonishingly long screams, George is also notorious for his headbanging technique, called ‘helicopter hair,’ and, subsequently, the largest neck in metal.
George joined Cannibal Corpse in 1996 after the ‘Created to Kill’ sessions with Chris Barnes and has been a part of the band since. George was formerly in the death metal band Monstrosity, and left after recording the ‘Millenium’ album. Refining his vocals again and again, ‘Corpsegrinder’ recently set a new Cannibal Corpse scream record on their newest ‘Wretched Spawn’ CD. ‘They Deserve to Die’ features George in a final 15 second scream that both shocks and amazes, and stands as a demonstration of the fury of Cannibal Corpse.
