SLAYER
I just bought the PS 04 Palmtop Studio, it rules. It's got a drum machine, bass machine, multiple track recorder, it's got a shitload of different amp model sounds, its got 90 some odd guitar effects, five different drum kits to choose from, its got everything I'll ever need to do a full length album in the comfort of my own home. And when you record any track, you can choose what type of sound as in, full sound, live sound, soft, power ect... I could go on for pages and pages about the shit this thing has built into it. It's literaly everything I need! For $400.00!!! I don't even need other band members with this thing for crying out loud! Added to my GX1200H Crate full stack and my Jackson DK - MGT guitar with EMG HZ pick ups, I don't need anything else now! Isn't that kick ass? I don't even need to worry about upgrading cause my equipment %100 up to par to my standards (wich is quite high). The PS 04 kicks ass, you all should try it! No, you all should go out and buy one! It's a full recording studio that fits in the palm of your hand!

You can see what it looks like and read about it here: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PS04/

Niiice. I would love to get one of those. They look hard to operate, yet I'm sure they're easy to use once you get the hang of it. Good stuff!

Sound quality? Well here is my answer. The distorion on this piece of equipment is preprogramed similar to that of on Slayer's Divine Intervention only a little more up front (magnified) sounding, but you can also adjust the levels and make it heavier. You can take any effect out of the 90 some odd ones it has and for each of those effects there is an equalizer and various other sound options so if you spend enough time at it you can make some cool distortions but it is quite a time consuming process yet worth it. The distortion I developed is like Divine Intervention distortion only death metalized. The acoustic sound quality is that of perfection. Many different effects for that as well, and they all sound beautiful. Everything you record is stored on its smart-media card and you get about 35 minnutes. Just about enough for an entire album. If thats not enough time for you, just record a few songs, transfer them to you computer, erase them from you card, record a few more, stick em on your PC again and then burn the cd. Awsome! naughty.gif
Gaz Metal
I have a program like that on my computer. I made a CD full of instrumentals once with it and made shit loads of stupid little MP3's.

heh heh... I think a computer program is quite different than this device Gaz... rolleyes.gif

Yep, you can mic your own amp. It's got a high quality built in mic that replicates exactly the sound that it records. You can even use it as a microphone for vocals. It's also designed to mic your acoustic guitar but I just use the acoustic sounds it has programed. The mic is extremely high quality. I miced my TV recording a sound clip of George W Bush's voice talking about being a "war president" from the Farenhite 9/11 dvd that came out. I'm gonna use that clip as an intro to an anti government song I am writting. The mic reproduced the sound as if I was watching the dvd myself. The mic rules. I still have yet to experience the mixing process. I'll let you know as I progress I supose.
