megadeth is the best out of the "top 4" thrash bands from that era.

Never been a huge fan, but whenever I hear some Megadeth playing somewhere it may be pretty good. Depends on what album, of course, even I know that there are certain Megadeth albums that you don't wanna touch.

they're a very good band for the most part. Dave mustaine has been through ALOT to say the least and came back to rock on is very admirable. albumwise, they''re pretty cool until Countdown and after Risk

the only megadeth fans that i know that are in the states are my wife and a friend of mine. they are more popular in south america.

the reason that mustaine thinks that he is the king of thrash is because he *IS* the king of thrash.

Rust in Peace is a massive and killer album by Mustaine and co. GET IT!!!!

I'll always crazily love the first four Megadeth albums upto 'Rust in Peace' and 'Peace Sells......' is the best I got from Mustaine & gang. 'Countdown.....'-to-Risk, lost me as the fan I had once been, and only 'The System Has Failed' reignited my passion for them. The last one 'United Abominations', while not spectacular, is plenty good, and means that I'm back in the Megadeth fold as a born-again fan. Great band and the first four records alone qualify them as thrashing legends, in my book.

Indeed , peace sells is a masterpiece . The blasting drums , Rhythm's guitar that even by today's standards - is impossible to play - but melodic . People really understood what difficult and well crafted rhythm's guitar was when this came out . I love mustaine's vocals as well , and to top it off - the best lead player of all time chris poland . Whoaaa , he was truly a unique gem playing scales that were almost reminiscent of jazz solos over mustaine's blistering rhythm's was heaven .
