I have always travelled a lot all over the world (to every continent, save the Antarctic ) ever since I was only a kid. That has helped me both live among and learn about diverse nations, peoples and cultures, all my life. I feel highly fortunate and the better off for those experiences. Though, paradoxically, I've not mastered a foreign language as my second language, behind English. This often frustrates me, cos I'd love to be able to speak, not one, but several different languages. Alas, I'm too lazy and complacent in my English-speaking ways, to even seriously try anymore. Being in Japan, on and off, for most of the past year, has sort of rekindled, indeed almost made it mandatory, that I make an effort at Japanese, for starters. My Spanish used to be quite outstanding when I was a teen dating an older, sensational senorita from Barcelona. My grip over Spanish sank south soon after that swell love affair ended.

My passions have been (and still are); extreme metal music like death metal, thrash, grindcore and hardcore. I'm unabashedly an extreme-metal-first fan with Death Metal (and Grindcore is runners-up) being my greatest pride n joy in ALL music. I also love the Blues and blues-rock. The one and only Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP), being my biggest blues hero of all time.

I absolutely love playing and watching lots of competitive outdoor sports. Football a.k.a soccer, tennis, hockey (both field and ice versiona), squash, rugby, cricket and Formula One races are some of my favourites. Also fishing, sailing, kite-flying (sadly, I haven't been able to do much skiing so far, though I definitely wanna do more of that in the future)... I keenly follow international politics, fashion and cultural news. I'm no self-congratulatory atheist, I reckon I do believe in some God, raised a Protestant, though I'm no church-goer and a staunch believer in religion being a purely private concern and having no claim to lord it over in the political or social spheres, i.e. a non-negotiable, eternal separation of religion and state. I find most organized religion intolerant, bigoted, very subversive and stifling of individuality and personal freedoms of thought and conduct. I always thought nobody ever needs religious rituals and dogma in order to lead an honest, moral life and be a good human being. But I have nothing against religious folks, anywhere, as long as they don't get overly preachy, judgemental and infuriatingly try to foist their values and beliefs upon the rest of us. My politics is rather left-wing, the dreaded L-word in the States in that on a lot of the perennial hot-button social issues, certainly in the U.S, I'm what you'd call a 'liberal'. That's how I have mostly voted in my own country and that's what my beliefs are.

Cannibal Corpse (old)..Both you and I know the usual adjectives---early, original, classic, Barnes-era et al--- to denote the years of this mighty band's career that a lot of us love most ...Ha, 'old' seems like a very neutral way to identify what some of us right here in the forums, consider 'the best'..

Deicide (old) ???. I wonder if you mean it exactly the way I mean it when I say it, i.e. pre-Stench, all Hoffmans-era DEICIDE that I know I always have and always will love and regard most highly.

Cryptopsy (old)...Pains me to even write or talk about it, but hey, it really has come down to this, right?

Digorge (US): For a devoted fan of this awesome band, I reckon there could ever really be the one and only Disgorge worth raving about..and yea, it happens to be from the States..

i will always personally favour the first 3 deicide albums, quite simply for the massive impact they made on me. although granted, the later albums have been of high quality, they just haven't quite 'done it for me' as much as the others.

cryptopsy, well for me, no lord worm = not cryptopsy.

as far as a recent listens go, i would say both the new decrepit birth and defeated sanity discs have been on constant playback for the last fortnight (highly recommended). i eargely await the vomitous/inhuman dissiliency split also, so im sure a number of listens will become this.

glad to have you hear man, i enjoy your posts alot and as many have said, stick around a while and pop into chat sometime, sounds like you've got some stories to tell.

yeah i like the first 4 cannibal corpse cds better than the recent ones for sure.

Whats up guys. I'm Brian and I've been into DM for 15 years. Always thought CC was the best. I'm into a lot of different bands, all metal though. I moved to montana for work a little over a year ago from San Diego. I haven't found much of a DM scene here, but I did go to the Type O Neg/Hemlock show a couple months back.

4 years ago, all my CD's were stolen, so I've been rebuilding my collection, but it's a LOT of money. I think i've been inspired to go "re-buy" TOTM this afternoon..lol.

So cool to hear that, besides dm and bm, you're into grindcore as well, because I've long been a total grind addict..never can get enough of it, if you get my drift. Btw, I don't know how long you've been in Milan, and whether you like the city or not. I know I just don't (i.e like Milan) for a number of reasons, not least because it's rather grimy, polluted, congested and crime-infested metro ...But if you're a football fan as a lot of Serbs (and Croats) are, then I reckon you must be following the Italian Seria A and the fortunes of the two great Milan sides---AC and Inter. The fashion and food are pretty cool too, I must admit.

I've been in the US Air Force for almost two years, and i was recently stationed in Albuquerque NM for about 15 months until i got an assignment here in Okinawa, Japan. I moved out here in Mid-October with my wife and we've been seeing and doing the fun things here on the island - castle ruins, shopping, eating local food, etc, it's been a blast. I miss the states already but it's going to be an awesome four years. good to be back.


...plus there is nobody on this island who listens to any music worth a shit. the closest there are is faggy disturbed fans here and there.
