I'll try to revive an ancient and very small thread...
Destruction was awesome during that time. I dare say their work of this period is more inventive and original than any other. Destruction was still Destruction, delivering the thrash, but in a completely avant-garde form. Not like anything else Destruction have ever done, including "Cracked Brain". Had the band had label support they would have broken through almost certainly and this discussion wouldn't be about a past era of Destruction. This lineup would still be going.
So, in the end, my response would be that no, Destruction didn't suck during the '94-'99 period. They were at their creative peak.
