Now listen. I'm as metal as the next bloke, and I don't usually listen to Slipcock, but regardless I feel that these two tunes are worthy of a thread. I heard Part 1 first, and immediately became a fan of it. Noteably the riffs during ~Carve my name in my face! To recognise~ but generally the whole tune impressed me and still does.
I heard Part 2 a few weeks after hearing Part 1, and I was stoked that they had decided to do a Part 2...especially an all-acoustic, more chilled-out version.
If you think they blow, don't bother posting. I'm interested to hear views from people who like the songs.

Great songs, Vermilion part 1 was a thrill to learn, and yeah that part has the best riff in the whole song. And Slipknot aren't that bad in all reality, depends on when you found them, how you found them and why you found them.
I have their self titled album, Iowa, and the Subliminal something or other albums. They were good, but I moved on to death metal.
i used to listent to Slipknot when i was in high school. them days are over 
i give them semi props right up to the point they crossed the line to sell out ville.lol....iowa is a pretty tight cd.....they fuct up when they went astray from that!

Slipknot is pritty bad ass. IOWA was a good cd. i have sublimal verses. the vermillion songs are pritty good. Before i forget is probibly my favorite.

Slipknot are ok but they lack the backbone of true Metal or Death Metal. Maybe one day they will make a true hard ass album. I also don't care if they have to go behind masks (even to boost sales), cause there is certainly The Berzerker, GWAR and some very obscure band from the 80's (I believe they are called Infernal Slaughter or some shit, they did some crappy stuff) that've done the same shit. I also don't care if the band NEEDS TALENT. I don't care if the band drops to the pits of black metal OMFG TEY SELL MORE TAN 1 CD, THEY'RE SELLOUTS area... fuck them! i used to listen to them when they first started, after the whole sell out bullshit, i can see why Cory Taylor went and did his own thing, he wanted to stop hiding behind the mask's of the band and do it the right way, but that was only one's opinion out of 10

Save for Disasterpieces, which happened to be a WONDERFUL orgy of a show. To see a bunch of men fucking each other would be hilarious... let us not forget GWAR's antics on stage (funny as well) as well as all of the other corny semblances that make black metal and other certain bands look TEN TIMES more pathetic (Hell on Earth *cough*, attempting public suicide *cough cough*).Don't give them a title and don't give them any thing that would resemble metal in the slightest if it hurts that much (which basically, seems to). There's still going to be people around (like myself) that listen to Slipknot on a small basis of time; that don't really care about all of the shit around them of them ripping off of anybody, lack of talent and what not (meh, Testament? Whereabouts? Maybe more like a half-ass Slayer or Anthrax with a bumfuck of GWAR added in, add a little bit of Korn vinegar, rinse and repeat), and that can carry on with their lives better than a good portion of the other "fans". Ah well, the hatred may also always serve as a grand excuse to hate the youth, which have no respect for metal as a foundation, and that tarnish the very history of it all... which is what Slipknot SEEMED to do. Hell, I don't read the words that they spout out, and I don't care what they claim themselves as (which doesn't seem like much now since maturity kicked in, but first impressions, you know...). A portion of their music is listenable, they seem to like death metal, they have an unoriginal yet pretty catchy gimmick... Corey has Stone Sour as a "not too bad" side project, and the non-Heretic Anthem / Surfacing / (whatever other anthemic song you can put in here) lyrics have at LEAST a LITTLE sentimental FICTIONAL value. Slipknot basically came out at a good time, and once again, there's going to be people that will hang on to that at least a little bit.
