Woman barricaded in home

An Alexandria woman couldn’t get out of her house Thursday because her husband nailed the windows shut and put a dead bolt on the outside of the door, city police allege.
James Anderson also canceled his wife’s cell phone service so that she couldn’t call anyone for help, the victim told officers.

A caller, who did not provide any personal information, reported the woman trapped in her house.

The Alexandria Fire Department was able to get into the house and free the victim. She told officers that her husband “locks her inside every night when he leaves for work,” police reports state. Police did not say how long it had been going on or why.

The victim went to a relative’s home.

Officers called Anderson to his 7th Street house, telling him that his house was no longer secure. The 50-year-old was taken into custody when he arrived at the house. Anderson was booked in the Rapides Parish Jail on a charge of false imprisonment.

what i wonder is why she didnt just break a window and crawl out and leave the jerk? She must not have wanted to get away very badly because there are plenty of ways to get out of a house.....I'd start by breaking the wall down if I couldnt get thru the windows... maybe set a bedroom on fire... but control it so it just makes LOTS of smoke so I wouldnt accidently burn myself up.

Thanks EyeHateGod, but it is funny! It sure isn't funny for the woman, but the entire idea of the situation is hilarious. That bastard really wanted that woman to stay put! That story is like a classic scene out of a movie or something. It just seemed too perfect to be true.

Yeah i'd try and break the walls down first........there is a weak spot in just about every house, setting something on fire would be an absolute last resort, and the fire would be only big enough to draw attention to some passerbyers...lol Because the last thing I want to do is burn myself up alive.

My question is why would she allow that to happen in the first place? Sure, the guy might have been big, but if the ass is gonna lock you in a room the least you can do is kick him square in the nuts if he is impossible to overpower. I would do all I could to stop that, but then if I couldn't, I would probably try to break a wall down too.
