Check out the cool Cannibal Corpse article and Wretched Spawn review from the Trees....
Cannibal Corpse / Hypocrisy / Exhumed / Vile - 02/13
Doors open @ 7:00...All ages welcome...I can hear you thinking: “Gee, Horst must really dislike Sjak, otherwise he wouldn’t haven given the new Cannibal Corpse CD to the A.O.R./melodic rock editor for a review”. Well…, my personal taste has a broad scope and I really can appreciate a nice death album album once in a while. It’s even worse, for bands like Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, Broken Hope and Immolation you can get me out of bed anytime. Therefore I issued the request to Horst myself to review the new album of my absolute favorite death metal band and luckily he honored that request.
Cannibal Corpse up till now has really shown the ability to improve themselves at every release and I must say that they succeeded in doing that again with “The Wretched Spawn’. Thirteen tracks long you can really enjoy the complex guitar parts of tandem Jack Owen/Pat O’Brien, the excellent drum sound of Paul Mazurkiewicz (in my opinion one of the best drummers in the death metal scene), the spectacular bass playing of Alex Webster and the nice filthy grunt of George Fisher. Every band member is an authority on his territory and together their interaction is that strong that they are able to top their individual performance. Together with the pure craftsmanship of Neil Kernon, who once more took care of the production job, it is obvious that “The Wretched Spawn” will be one of the absolute death metal highlights in the year 2004.
