can anyone give me any tips on how to build up, like, throat strength, and also, like, breathing patterns and how to not have to breath as often and stuff?
Don't raise your shoulders to breath - instead expand from your diaphragm ( you'll see your tummy poke out )
1-Try not to roar like someone. Get one of your fave songs on and go fucking nuts just change the pitch of your roar when the vocalist does but don't try to sound like the vocalist.
2-Roar from the pit of your stomach
3-The sound of your roar depends on how you shape your mouth, make a rounded shape and it should come out low and when you widen your mouth it should go higher.
4-Think about something or someone you hate and use all that anger to amplify your voice
5-Gritting your teeth works quite well as it makes you sound like you have more conviction about whatever it is you choose to roar about.

hmm...i used to be a backup growler in a thrash band when bassing with them...thats how i got started...then when i started playing grindcore, i was the vocalist/bassist.
a few tips...
1.never growl when your throught is dry...
2.always drink room temp water (The Corpsegrinder does that)
3.at shows dont spit alot. specially when your singing.
4.clean your throught before starting to sing
5.always practice without a mic. (i donno..that helps me alot)

like every one has sed keep your Throut lubrecated never do it dry
also water is the best like Reredrum sed room temp. is best but i always find as well if you find a drink for me is cock or milk give you a good flem witch adds to the grow like almost a throwing up sound well thats what i get but i dont recomend milk

Scale exercises work well to. I heard somewhere that eating cheese works lol never tried it myself, I dont like cheese that much lol Warm liquid, I like coffee that way I kill two birds with one bean. I like to do light screaming exercises before I do serious singing, it helps with growling, screaming, and singing. Just make sure what you keep warm water with you while your doing your stuff.

a question on my behalf. how do you get your growl louder, i can do it pretty good but not super loud. tryin to get it louder but its hard after a few minutes my throat hurts and then i drink water but it still dosnt help a ton. dose it hurt just cause im workin on getting louder or what?

... you just growl louder...its unexplainable... use a mic?... and get used to the pain... it doesnt last long...
you gotta train your chords to take the abuse. kinda like calouses that develope when you play guitar.
