Gaz Metal
I like the name of the forum. It reminds me of Anthrax's first album for some reason.
Some of the songs off that album have been re-recorded with John Bush singing by the way, and will be released sometime in autumn!!!!! I can't wait!

Hey Gaz, I read Anthrax has changed the name of their new album to ""The Greater of Two Evils".

Aye, they had the name Metallum Maximum Aeturnum since before the September the 11th terrorist attacks. I wonder why they changed it at the last minute. I suppose The Greater Of Two Evils is saying that John Bush is a better singer than Joey Belladonna.
Fistfull of Metal was a cool album. My fav song on it is Panic.
DAVE DEATH
HAILS!
I saw the old line up on the tour they just did and I gotta say they were fucking awesome! Pissed off they never played "Keep It In The Family" though. As for "A Fistful Of Metal", it sucks. I have always hated that album. When John Bush joined I lost interest in them altogether. I always preferred NUCLEAR ASSAULT, EXODUS, SLAYER and MEGADETH (well, until after "Countdown..."

It's been only a week since I joined these forum boards. And now I finally wander into a great thread about a topic that excites me a whole lot. I gotta say that classic thrash metal was my first true gateway to my now long-standing passion for and devotion to Extreme Metal. Thrash single-handedly helped me lunge headlong into the amazing world of Death Metal and later, top-notch Grindcore. These three brands of Metal constitute an overwhelming majority of my most-loved bands, records and

Some of the greatest thrash heroes in my personal, all-time Hall of Fame include Slayer, early-Anthrax, early-Megadeth, early-Sepultura, early-Flotsam & Jetsam, Dark Angel, Exodus, Testament, Vio-lence, Nuclear Assault, Overkill, Kreator, Destruction, early-Sodom, Sadus, Sanctuary, Forbidden. Gosh, I sure could go on. But these heavy-hitters that I mentioned above spring instantly to mind when talk turns to my own thrashy turn-ons.

I gotta say that classic thrash metal was my first true gateway to my now long-standing passion for and devotion to Extreme Metal. Thrash single-handedly helped me lunge headlong into the amazing world of Death Metal and later, top-notch Grindcore. These three brands of Metal constitute an overwhelming majority of my most-loved bands, records, inspiration and playing time on my personal players.

I reckon that on most days, and in most ways, Slayer and Dark Angel are tied at top spot in my book.

It's so deeply sad how a lot of incredibly gifted, thrilling, yet under-rated thrash acts (especially the American ones that totally own the scene), had such short-lived careers, dying like fireflies in the night. Outside the famed Big Four----Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, and Anthrax---you guys oughta seriously sample some of the truly breath-takingly brilliant bands that I listed above for an unforgettable taste of what classic, immortal thrash done right, really sounds and feels like. I sure can testify to the experience..

I haven't noticed yet, but is there something like this about Grindcore around here? I know DM is a given in these forums. And of the three, DM will always be my #1.
