I had an idea for this poll yesterday,let's see how the results work out...

if I absolutely HAD to pick one for me I would hafta go with ToTM,the vocals sound too "mudded down" and the overall sound quality seems to be lacking something

No really, there's always an album you hear less than others, but it really differs from time to time as far as i am concerned, so i just can't choose.

I have no least favorite, so I went with the last option. They all have something good to offer, none of em would be my least favorite. Though Gore Obsessed is close to it, but it's not.

Totally, Gaz. I picked up Bloodthirst a few weeks ago, and it is not leaving my CD player! Neither is Gallery of Suicide!

Why is it bad to have a least favorite? You can't like every single one of them exactly the same. There is always going to be one that you play least often. I like The Bleeding album but it's my least favorite.

I'm going with "it's blasphemous to even have a least favorite", but having said that I think that they made a quantum leap in improvement between Eaten Back To Life and Butchered At Birth, and while Eaten Back To Life does have some fantastic songs on it I think its their weakest record. And Eaten Back To Life is probably the album of theirs that I listen to the least.

This might seem like a strange answer but I went with Vile. I actually REALLY like the album now, but when it first came out I fucking HATED it for a couple of reasons. I know he hasn't been in the band for years now, but to this day Chris Barnes is my all time fav member of CC. From the first time I heard CC back in '93, I thought Chris was an AMAZING vocalist/frontman, and a GREAT lyricist!! When I found out he was let go, I was PISSED!!! I couldn't imagine CC without Chris period!!! Even though I was somewhat familiar with George, At first I thought he was shit compared to Barnes, and I thought the vocals ruined Vile! Which in hindsight is COMPLETE BULLSHIT! After awhile I accepted that Corpsegrinder was CC's vocalist, and over time I realized that Vile is a GREAT album, and both singers are GREAT in their own way, even though I still prefer Chris! I guess I can always listen to Six Feet Under, who I really like, just NOWHERE near as much as I love Barnes era CC!

dont get me wrong im not bashing or anything on CG by any means i do enjoy his singing as well.......just performance/presence wise..barnes is a dominator of the stage.

i only have three albums, so i still cannot say...

Of course, I like them all, but I'd have to say the one I like the least was "Butchered at Birth". I'm not a fan of the production and it's the album I listen to the least. Something about that one never really clicked with me. I opted not to consider "Live Cannibalism" or "Worm Infested", as they are not proper albums so to speak.

I feel that anyone voting for the last option needs to stop trying to be Cannibal Corpse's number one fan. You MUST have a least favourite album, it doesn't make that a particularly bad album, it just means you like the others more.

My least favourite? I voted Eaten Back To Life, it's the album I listen to least and has the least stuff to get me nodding my head out of all Corpse's albums.

i had to vote for eaten back to life, becuase the production on that was just so... eeuwwww. fortunately, the remaster sounds alot better! ill listen to that version instead.

Your right. My fav band is Anthrax. I bum them I like them so much but I have least favorite album by them. Those who voted "it's blasphemous to even have a least favorite" want to bum Cannibal Corpse and stick their nuts in their arseholes at the same time.

Personally I think Barnes era kicks major ass the lyrics are way more sadistic and detailed and the vocals seem more relentless. Corpsegrinder is definetly the best choice to take over and he is definetly the headbanging king (along with Webster) but he doesnt but as much into the music as barnes has threw his careers but maybe now with the new Paths of possesion we will see a change in his writing capabilities.

I completley agree. The lyrics of the Barnes-era CC were far more violent and gory (Not saying Alex & Jack can't be violent), and vocals, in my opinion, were just better. I'm a bigger fan of the low, gutteral vocals though.

I think it's a sin not to like a CC album and consider your self a fan . Surely you don't like some songs but the whole album ?
Anyway, i don't know why some people don't like the first album so much. Its a masterpiece and should get more atention.

i absolutly love all the barnes-era shit up to bloodthirst. gore obsessed in my opinon had no stand out tracks. wretched spawn came and there is some kick ass songs on it. rotted body landslide is killer.

Anything after the bleeding. AKA anything with corpsegrinder. Especially Live Cannibalism because he fucked up alot of barne's songs. Sorry, but i prefer the old cannibal corpse, thats when they had an excellent heavy sound and before they got too technical.

Ahhh! A lot of people like the newer, more technical stuff better than the older stuff. Personally, I love George and Chris but I think that more "classic" songs came from the Barnes era because I find myself listening to the old stuff more than the new, but still, it all kicks ass.

I didn't vote on this one, cos my choice isn't listed (for an obvious reason: the record hadn't even been released at the time)...For me, Kill is easily the 'worst' one so far. I'm no huge fan of 'Gore Obsessed' or 'Vile' either. But Kill is definitely an awful let-down from the CC canon.

If you ask me, "raw" production is what made early DM albums (like TOTM) killer IMO. It gave the albums more of an underground, bruatality-laced, raw, energized, "fuck you" sound and vibe IMO.

The guitars sounded to Mid-rangy to my ears that I can hardly hear any riffs.

the production on BAB was awesome , and totm .

There is no way in hell there could be a least favorite album by Cannibal Corpse, I mean, I listen to Cannibal Corpse DAILY. So, none of those albums are my least favorite.

Your feelings exactly mirror mine. I couldn't agree more with what you said. I could cite lots of examples to explain this, but the stand-out one would be about Suffocation. ALL Suffo albums have had "production issues" that make some fans and critics bitch and moan about their records. I can only say that immortal slabs of early-DM like 'Effigy of the Forgotten' and even more notoriously 'Breeding the Spawn', for instance, sound even more outrageously awesome partly because of, not despite, the 'raw', unvarnished, heavy, edgy production. I sure know how Bab and TotM, both CC's crowning jewels, both also benefited from this production treatment at the studios.

How can you NOT like Gore Obsessed? Jeez!

Yeah, he was a little weak on that, but his screams on Vile seemed experimental, like he hadn't yet mastered them. I don't think he really got good at his scream until Bloodthirst, and I think his finest screams were on Gore Obsessed, where it really tore at my ears.

Idk man, that's kinda hard to say, I like all Cannibal Corpse albums, but most of all I like all of the albums w/ George. Vile, Gallery of Suicide, Bloodthirst, Live Cannibalism, Gore Obsessed, The Wretched Spawn and Kill. However, I also like Chris's albums, but George's is more vile, more brutal and fucking insane... I'm just more into George's style, but don't get me wrong w/ Chris's albums, such as Eaten back to Life, butchered @ birth, and tomb of the mutilated, and tomb of the mutilated is the fucking shit.....but, George's vocals is more brutal.
