Not many people suspect it, but under my sensitive, well mannered and gentlemanly exterior, Cannibal Corpse is my favorite band. Every time I get into a music discussion with my friends, they don't understand why Cannibal Corpse/Death Metal is so appealing to me. My parents are big Enya and Loreena Mckennitt fans, my brothers listen to Moby and other relaxed bands, and here I am with Cannibal Corpse. I personally listen to them because it's the brutality, the speed, and the sheer energy coming from each song. Somehow, it relaxes me and puts me in a frame of mind to get the job done. If I am in school and need to do some trig problem, I pop on some CC and it gives me a new thought process. All of that, plus it's just amazing. But thats just me, how about you guys?

I've noticed the same thing, Cannibal Corpse is great music for computer programming or math homework... anything that requires attention to detail and is kind of tedious.
I just like to listen to it because its fierce.

Cannibal Corpse music is good for a variety of things. However I find that the different eras of CC have their own special uses.
For example:
IMO the Barnes era is better suited to listen to when drinking, getting stoned, partyting, general headbanging, or generally when one wants to freak someone whom has never heard DM or seen a DM album cover before out. It's an era of speed, brutality, and gore-filled fun.
And IMO the more technical-based Fisher era stuff on the other hand is better suited for tasks that generally require more complex thought such as history homework, math homework, PC work, as well as cooking, mechanical work, doing chores, etc. It is also great to listen to when one wants to psyche themselves up for something, or when working out or doing any other general physical activity.

why do I like listening to cannibal corpse?
because it's some of the most brutal music there is and it's a slap in the face to queer kind of music.
now, if you don't know where i lifted (and edited) that quote from, then you yourself, are queer.

I really like having unprotected gay sex with men that have what seem to be AIDS spots on them as well as cold sores on their dicks. I prefer no lube so that my rectum tears in the hopes that I get a strain of ghonnaherpesyphilaids. That's why I like Cannibal Corpse.

I never really listen to my favourite extreme music while doing other things (simultaneously) that require mental focus and attention. I sure never thought of Cannibal Corpse as some aid to ace-ing my high school homework or university assignments. That would be such a total, tremendous kill-joy of the music. I like listening to my fave music where the music is my main, or mostly only, thing getting my full attention.
Anyhow, I absolutely love listening to Cannibal Corpse cos it gives me some of the sweetest thrills and highest highs that any music can ever (and does) give me. The no-holds-barred ferocity, sheer abrasiveness and the brutal magnificence of CC's music appeals to me hugely. Death Metal is the music that I've always admired and loved most passionately and CC is one of the greatest gods of that godly genre.

I listen to cc just to put me in a relaxed frame of mind, or to get motivated for something such as working out or going to a show.

well, the reason why I listen to Cannibal Corpse, is because, they are so intense dude, their lyrics are extreme in violence, murder, and songs involving with necrophilliac, rape, murder, and Cannibal Corpse fits perfectly in the respects of Death metal, no doubt at all they do.

I've always listened to what I thought was the heaviest music at the time. CC brought me to a point I didn't think I could get heavier. Since then I have, but CC is still heavy enough to be in the top 10.
And I've always loved violence a whole lot, that helps too

They were the first death metal band I heard and they are one of the best bands to lead you into the genre, their powerful style and gore filled lyrics are rarely ever challenged by any other band today.
