Breed to Breathe---NAPALM DEATH...I don't know how or why this priceless gem from ND's massive treasure vaults of numerous classics, has been constantly buzzing in my head for the past few days. It creeps up on me without warning dozens of times throughout the day. biggrin.gif

Despise the Sun---SUFFOCATION...Again, just writing about this brings the song flooding into my senses and I give it a spin every night before going to sleep.. laugh.gif

Romeo Delight---VAN HALEN..I've been giving it repeated listens lately and I just don't know why..Of course, I love the song hugely, but why has it rocked my days this June, I cannot tell... smile.gif

Absolutely. I've seen Psycroptic and Blood Duster several times, love em. One of the best shows of the last 12 months was Blood Duster supporting Napalm Death - fantastic stuff. If I heard correctly, Barney said that the two bands were going to release a split - how cool would that be!

Also Fuck I'm Dead, The Day Everything Became Nothing, Damaged, and Abramelin are some other homegrown favourites that come to mind.

Track of the week for me is probably Atonement, by Disgorge.

Yeah, I've been stuck and tied up in Japan so it's been a total hard luck story for me ever since when it comes to catching all my most sought-after extreme metal action. I felt seriously gutted about missing out on the Napalm Death/Blood Duster double whammy. And tronics, you made my eyes light up and heart race with the bit about Barney hinting about a possible split with the Duster toughies. That would be awesomely, deliriously cool.. cool.gif and I pray like crazy that it happens.

Hey, I'm sure I haven't heard of The Day Everything Became Nothing. I'm sure gonna seek them out and delve into all the stuff they've put out. Fuck I'm Dead is a very special personal favourite of mine as is the terrific bunch that is Damaged. You know what, tronics? I've often lamented--and even stated in these forums---how Australia being such prime metal country with a massively passionate and dedicated metal-worshipping fan following, has produced too few top-notch metal acts. Too many fans abroad, when they think Australian metal, all they can ever think of is AC/DC...Ugghh!!.. thumbdown.gif and AC/DC isn't even metal, for starters.. rolleyes.gif But on second thoughts, I reckon at least the dozen or so genuinely world-class metal bands and the absolute awesomeness of their albums and performances oughta give us Aussie metal freaks a helluva lot of bragging rights in the (extreme) metal community, worldwide.. smile.gif

Not everyone, I can assure you from experience. And that includes American rock-metal fans too. I guess it's the same people that also love to believe a bunch of clowns and posers like KISS were metuhhl.. laugh.gif (though as crappy as AC/DC were most of the time, I'm not saying KISS were ever remotely better than the Young brothers' act)..

laugh.gif I thought you might get a bit excited about the prospect of a ND/BD split.

The Day Everything Became Nothing has Tony from Blood Duster on vocals, and Dave from Fuck I'm Dead on guitar. Nice. Tony uses some kind of pitch shifter to make his voice sound even deadlier than it already is.

Thanks a ton for that, mate!! I loved hearing and watching it. Makes me desperately determined to get my hands on the best discs by The Day Everything Became Nothing, the fastest I can. The mere mention of Tony and Dave from two of my favourite local legends makes me drool for more... smile.gif

Long-Desired Dementia by DECAPITATED has been my constant 'favourite song' companion for the past few days. I was listening to The Negation, an album that I really enjoy a whole lot, and this song near the end of the album has got a grip on my mind now... cool.gif

Yes indeed a stellar album, I'm gonna dust it off and give it some airtime in the coming week or two.

Aww, how could you have even let it gather dust ?? sad.gif laugh.gif The Negation is such a supremely solid and satisfying listen, right through the half hour of brutal-tech virtuosity it delivers. The only thing that could have been slightly better is the vocals, as genuinely great as it was, just a little variety and occasional contrasts could have made the songs even more delicious. Also, as cool and unexpected as the cover of Deicide's Lunatic of God's Creation was, I would have loved to have another killer original of their own instead....

Hey, Suicide Silence are a very interesting bunch of players for me. The only stuff I have of theirs is The Cleansing and I like it a lot as I do the song off the album that you mentioned is your flavour of the week. cool.gif ..tronics, I don't know if SS could be (or already is) called 'death-core' but mate, to me, they definitely sound like dm marrying hardcore, even grind. Regardless of genre labels, Suicide Silence is a very good band. Now that you reminded me of the band all over again, I'm planning to buy their self-titled soon.

My song of the week this time is definitely Reluctant Messiah, from one of my favourite IMMOLATION albums i.e. Unholy Cult
